McKibben’s book The End of Nature (1989) is regarded as the first book for a general audience about climate change and has been translated in 24 different languages. He’s gone on to write many more books, and his work appears regularly in periodicals from the New Yorker to Rolling Stone. He is a winner of the Gandhi Peace Prize and recipient of honorary degrees from 20 colleges and universities. And he is a Schumann Distinguished Scholar in Environmental Studies, Middlebury College.
