NorthWestern Energy wants to keep data center documents secret, enviro groups object

Montana’s main power company, NorthWestern Energy, wants to preserve the secrecy — and shield from the public view — Letters of Intent it has signed with out-of-state companies to supply huge amounts of electricity for yet-to-be-built data centers in Montana.

And a group of environmental nonprofit groups have objected to that, arguing NorthWestern has “failed to provide an adequate explanation of why such information is confidential or subject to trade secret protections.”
