You’re invited to a training in Helena Tuesday, December 3rd at 6:30pm to learn more about NorthWestern Energy’s problematic “Resource Procurement Plan” and how to impact this important process going forward.

As you may know, NorthWestern’s proposed Resource Plan calls for no new renewable energy projects, only expensive fracked gas power plants, to meet its customer’s future electricity needs (more info here).

In short, if carried out, this plan is a big problem for both ratepayers and climate change.

The Public Service Commission (PSC) is currently taking public comment on the plan, including holding an in-person public comment hearing on December 9th at its office in Helena.

MEIC and allied organizations will be hosting this joint training the week before the PSC’s hearing to prepare people to give public comment. We’ll review what the plan is, how it was created, the PSC’s process, and leave plenty of time for questions.

What: Training on NorthWestern’s “Resource Plan”

When: Tuesday, Dec. 3rd from 6:30-8:00pm

Where: Helena Regional Airport, Sleeping Giant Room, 2850 Mercer Loop. Park in the “Short Term” parking lot. Arrangements have been made so people can park there for the entire training.

For any questions about this training, or the PSC comment process, feel free to call the MEIC office at 406-443-2520.

If you would prefer to submit comments on the Resource Plan electronically, please consider using the tool on MEIC’s website. Click here to do so.

For those who cannot attend in-person, there will be a live-stream online. Use this link to register for the live-stream. It includes instructions on how to view the live-stream. You may want to join it a few minutes early Tuesday night to work out any technical issues.
