MEIC is hosting a viewing party for the first of a two-part virtual series by Earthjustice Action and Earthjustice.

The first session, “Fighting for Montana’s Constitutional Right to a Clean Environment,” tells the story of climate and environmental issues facing Montanans, highlights landmark youth climate litigation, and shows how the people of Montana can take an active role in upholding Montana’s constitutional protections for a healthful environment. The panel will feature Claire Vlases, a plaintiff in the historic youth climate trial; Conrad Anker, a world-renowned rock climber, mountaineer, and author; and Michelle Uberuaga with Moms Clean Air Force and the National Parks Conservation Association. MEIC is hosting a viewing party at Goodworks on Sept. 5 at 5:30 pm.

**Drinks and pizza will be provided! Please RSVP at the link below.**

The following week, “Montana’s Climate Challenge: Accountability in Action” shifts focus to the critical role of the Montana Public Service Commission in addressing the impacts of climate change on utilities as well as environmental justice concerns. This event will be on Sept. 12 at 5:30 pm and will feature panelists Bonnie Hickey, Director of Sustainability at Bridger Bowl; Diego Rivas, associate attorney with Sanger Law and previously the NW Energy Coalition; Hiram Towle, General Manager and Director of Stoke at Bridger Bowl Ski Area; and Michael Hudson, volunteer for Families for a Livable Climate.

These will be town hall–style events and will include a live Q&A where you can submit questions for the speakers. Learn more and RSVP for one or both events here: https://earthjusticeaction.org/townhalls/montana2024
