Don’t fix what isn’t broken; Governor should veto HB 664 | Opinion

It’s often said that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

These days, Montanans don’t need to look any farther than our state Legislature to see this play out in real-time.

House Bill 664 (HB 664) would repeal Montana’s proven numeric nutrient standards — established rules that keep our water safe from harmful nutrient pollution — and abandon this effective method for more ambiguous and less precise narrative standards. Does this sound familiar? That’s because it is.
