A 647-mile crude oil pipeline is proposed for eastern Montana and opportunities to stop the dangerous Bridger Pipeline Project through public engagement are coming. Join MEIC and our partners for a webinar on Oct. 29 where we will cover all you need to know about the proposed pipeline, give updates on the latest developments, and get you ready to speak out against the Bridger Pipeline.
This is the next Keystone XL Pipeline.
The Bridger Pipeline Project, if approved, will be 36-inch buried pipeline spanning 647 miles. It would transport ~1.13 million barrels of crude oil DAILY from the Canadian border in Phillips County, Montana, to an existing terminal in Wyoming. The Bridger Pipeline raises significant environmental concerns, including risks to land, water, wildlife, the climate, and nearby communities. The proposed routes would cross multiple major rivers and critical wildlife habitat, increasing the potential for spills that could contaminate key water sources. Past incidents from one of the companies – including a major spill into the Yellowstone River where most of the oil was not recovered – highlight the potential for lasting environmental damage.
