A coalition of nine different organizations, many of which are environmental advocacy groups, have filed a complaint with the Montana Public Service Commission challenging NorthWestern Energy’s plan to supply huge amounts of power to three data center developers in the coming years.
The organizations say the plan could “deepen the state’s reliance on expensive fossil fuels” and that NorthWestern should first prove the plan will not increase costs for existing ratepayers.
