SB 324 by Sen. Mike Cuffe (R-Eureka) would mandate that the Montana Department of Environmental Quality repeal its recently adopted rulemaking on selenity pollution. This rulemaking is particularly important for NorthWest Montana, which has suffered from high levels of selenium pollution in the Lake Kookanusa region. This rule will result in more selenium pollution in our water. Selenium pollution can rapidly bioaccumulate and is toxic to fish and wildlife.
