| Bill Tracker, Bills MEIC Oppose

HB 481 by Rep. Steve Gunderson (R-Libby) adds additional criminal penalties for individuals who participate in protests involving “critical infrastructure.” This bill is aimed at individuals who are protesting activities that may harm the environment and human health by adding additional criminal penalties onto activities that are already illegal. It also allows for charging organizations who are “found to be a conspirator,” which is incredibly ambiguous.

Position:

Oppose

Status:

This bill is scheduled for a hearing and vote on the House Floor on 3/1.
