HB 203, by Rep. Rodney Garcia (R-Billings), grants the state the authority to bond and purchase coal-fired power plants such as Colstrip and the Hardin Generating Station.

The state should not be in the business of purchasing uneconomic, highly polluting industrial operations that could shift the cleanup costs to Montana taxpayers.

Heard by the House Energy, Telecommunications, and Federal Relations Committee on January 21st. Tabled in committee. Likely dead.
