SB 201 - Allow for Aggregate Net Metering

Sen. Jedediah Hinkle, (R-Bozeman), SD 32

SB 201 is a fix to an administrative problem. It would allow individuals with multiple electric meters on their property to apply bill credits generated by a single net metered system to all of their meters. Currently, one net metered systems can only put their bill credits toward one individual meter.

For example, if a farmer has three irrigation pivots that each have an electric meter, they would need three net metered systems to offset electric bills for all three pivots. If SB 201 passes they would only need one system and the credits it generates could apply to the electric bills of all three meters.
