Membership Benefits

MEIC keeps its members informed, and helps them become involved in critical issues. Members receive these regular publications:

  • Down to Earth: a quarterly newsletter on current environmental issues facing Montana, and MEIC's work on those issues.
  • Capitol Monitor: a bulletin published during legislative sessions.
  • Montana Environment: a newsletter to our out-of-state members, with articles about a wide variety of Montana environmental issues—not just the ones on which MEIC works.
  • In addition, we publish an occasional series of Citizen Guides and Action Alerts to notify members when quick action can help protect Montana's environment.
All members also receive invitations to MEIC events in their areas, such as our annual Holiday Party and the member meetings held in various parts of the state.

Patron Outing 2006

And when you contribute $100 or more to MEIC annually, you and your family will be invited to MEIC’s annual Patron Outing, a day of appreciation held each June. Each year we travel to a new location that holds significance for MEIC’s work and Montana’s environment. Some places we have visited in the past have include Ted Turner’s Flying D Ranch, Glacier National Park, the Mike Horse Mine site, the Blackfoot-Clearwater Wildlife Management Area, and the Judith Gap wind farm project. It is a great opportunity to meet MEIC staff and board members, and other MEIC members!

Overheard...

I have spoken to you on the phone in the past about Holcim, and my wife and I are members of MEIC.  We also attended the Holcim DEIS meeting last night.  I just wanted to say that you did a superb job presenting the case against tire burning.  Keep up the good work!

We get offers to join many different environmental organizations.  We decline some of them, simply because our resources are finite.  MEIC would be the last to go, due to your leadership on this issue which is so important to us.
