The Montana Environmental Information Center—called "perhaps the most influential and active environmental organization in the state"—is a non-profit environmental advocate that protects clean water and a healthy environment for all Montanans. It was founded in 1973 by Montanans concerned about protecting and restoring Montana's natural environment.
MEIC’s 35+ years of accomplishments and experience have earned it the reputation as Montana’s leading state government-focused advocate, and the leading group promoting progress in environmental policy pertaining to:

MEIC engages with a wide variety of state, regional and national environmental groups. MEIC also works with new voices for environmental protection including business, farming, labor, tribal, education, religious, and public health interests.
MEIC’s membership consists of nearly 5,000 individuals in Montana and around the country who support MEIC both financially and with their activism.
